Skin Burns That Can Now Be Effectively Treated With Only Natural Ingredients

Tuesday, January 31st, 2012

First degree burns are named so because they involve minimal tissue damage and affect the skin’s surface, the epidermis. Nevertheless, they are red and painful to touch. These types of burns cause pain, redness, and swelling. Sunburn is the most common example of first degree burn. First degree burns do not cause very dangerous effects in the moment, however, they could cause more serious problems such as cancer over time. It is important to recognize the symptoms of first degree burns and learn to treat them properly with these helpful tips.

Symptoms of Sunburn and other First Degree Burns

* Redness of the skin is the first visible sign of sunburn, however, it does not show immediately.

* Dry skin is another symptom of first degree burn. It is very important to moisturize first degree burns.

* Skin is in pain for about 48-72 hours.

* In the middle stage of the healing process, peeling occurs.

Tips for Sun Burns and other First Degree Burns

It is important to note whether the skin is broken. If not, put the affected area under cold water. You can run water over the affected area or apply a cool compress, such as a wet towel. This coolness can lessen swelling and reduce pain. You can also spritz the affected area with water from a spray bottle which gives a cooling sensation and soothes the skin temporarily. It is also vital to drink a generous amount of liquids.

Avoid exposure to the sun at all times. This is imperative as to not damage the skin tissue further. After a burn your skin is extremely vulnerable and sun exposure could lead to more tissue damage and eventually other problems such as premature aging.

Avoid the sun as well as apply UV protection with an SPF of 35 or higher. Reapply sunscreen every 3-4 hours if you find yourself out in the sun. It is recommended to wear a hat and sunglasses to protect your facial skin, the most delicate and vulnerable to permanent damage. Try to evade pressure and friction on the burn during the healing process. This is to allow the skin to breathe and react naturally, as well as to avoid further pain. When the skin starts to peel do not scratch the affected area if it becomes itchy. This peeling is part of the healing process and scratching could damage new skin cells being produced beneath the affected area. If itchiness is a problem, you can wash the area and apply moisturizing cream.

Because of the commonality of sunburn, there are many options in treatment. Gels that contain Aloe Vera are much recommended as they have an effective cooling sensation. This can help reduce the pain, inflammation and swelling. Other natural skin care products are made with a recommended and effective cream made from the byproduct of snails. These snail products can be very useful to heal your skin faster as it will trigger skin regeneration.

A successful sun damaged skin treatment is available through many different successful skin care companies.

How to Gain Muscle Weight For Thin People

Tuesday, January 31st, 2012

We all know that in order to gain muscle mass and weight, we have to do weight resistance exercises by lifting weights. So many underweight people head for the gym regularly and lift weights until their faces turned blue, but frustratingly their muscles are not growing. Why is that so?

Well, there are several factors to force your muscles to grow and in this article, we will explore some of them. Firstly, if you are a hardgainer (those who have difficulty in gaining weight), you will want to increase muscles mass on your whole body. If that is the case, then stop exercises that workout only one or two body parts. Do exercises that hit the most muscle groups at one go.

By doing that, not only that you will increase muscle mass all over your body, you will also save plenty of time as you need not hit your body muscle part by part. In order words, stop doing single joint exercises like bicep curls or forearm curls but concentrate on exercises that hit your bigger muscles like your chest, back and lower body. Some of these massive compound exercises are the squat, deadlift, bench press and chin ups.

Next, are you lifting till muscle fatigue? Muscle fatigue is when you cannot lift another rep in a given set because you have fatigued your muscles. So if you can lift a particular weight to ten reps and cannot make it to the eleventh, then you have reached muscle fatigue and the tenth rep. This is done to force your muscles to grow.

Let’s take the example that a certain magazine you are reading is asking you to lift up to eight reps but in actual fact, you will only reach muscle fatigue at ten but you followed the advise of the magazine and stopped at eight, do you think that your muscle will grow?

Now we will take a look at progressive overload. Most people at the gyms I have seen do not have a log book to record the exercises that they do and the weight that they are lifting. They just commit it to their memory. With so many exercises, sets, reps and other bodybuilding issues, how can they remember the details the next time they hit the gym?

That is the reason why most people just do the same exercises with the same weight every time. Now we all know that if you do the same thing, you get the same result and that is why they stay the same.

In order for your muscles to grow effectively, you must increase the weight you are lifting or adjust to higher reps each time you exercise your muscles. This is so that you can get stronger and bigger and do not stagnate like what most people are doing. This is called progressive overload

Next, are you making the mistake of lifting weights almost everyday? If you are, then this is another reason why your muscles are not growing. The reason is because you may be over training your muscles.

You see, when you lift weights with intensity, you are actually breaking up your muscle fiber. Your body will then repair your muscles and make it stronger so that it can withstand the onslaught that you will be giving it the next time you hit the weights. Therefore you must allow time for your muscles to heal before you work on it again.

Yes, many professional bodybuilders lift weights almost everyday. But do remember that they are on special nutrition and exercises unlike you. Besides, they also know what exercises to do so that they do not interfere with the muscle healing process.

So now that you know why you are not gaining muscle weight and size, you may want to do it even more effectively by finding out why you should have sufficient sleep and about nutrition to feed your muscles in order for them to grow.

Do You Have HGH Deficiency?

Tuesday, January 31st, 2012

The Human Growth Hormone (Hgh), also known as somatotropin is a polypeptide hormone which stimulates growth and cell reproduction. It is produced in a part of the brain known as the pituitary gland.

Our body starts producing this hormone abundantly as soon as were born. The hgh is then absorbed into the liver and changed into growth factors which interact with the cells of our body. The interaction is very crucial for cell reproduction as it instructs the cells when to live and when to die.

The body produces hgh throughout our lifetime but is more plentiful when we were children and when we were in our youths. This hormone stimulates growth in children and plays a very important role in adult metabolism. Children need levels of hgh to grow up normally and adults need it for general health purpose.

The human growth hormone offers many benefits as it can control the aging process by increasing our energy levels, help children to grow taller, improve our skin texture, control our metabolism, help us gain muscle mass and keep body fat at bay amongst many other benefits. Some diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease can also be treated using hgh therapy.

Our levels of hgh peak at around the age of 20 to 30 and starts to decline rapidly thereafter and that is why we start to age in tandem. It is estimated that the level drops by about 15% every decade which leads to lesser energy and more fatigue as we get older. This decline can also lead to weight gain, bone deterioration and other symptoms of aging.

As hgh continue to decline with age, it can lead to serious diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, memory related disorders, sleeping disorders, decreased strength, increased body fat, decreased kidney function, erectile dysfunction, depression, arthritis, diabetes and poor concentration just to name a few. Therefore preventing deficiency of human growth hormone in our body is essential for proper cell replacement, good health and the general well being of our bodies.

When a medical doctor familiar with growth hormone deficiency does a physical examination, he/she can see obvious evidence of hgh deficiency. Some of the symptoms which the doctor may observe are loss of abdominal muscle tone with belly distension, sagging breasts in both male and females, hair loss, wrinkles with loose skin over the eyes and loose skin hanging in a fold in the anterior neck just under the chin etc.

You can also check to see if you have hgh deficiency by pulling a fold of skin from the back of the hand between the thumb and index finger. The skin should bounce back within a second after you release it. If not, then you may want to visit your doctor for more tests to see if you need hgh therapy.

However, hgh replacement therapy can be very expensive and come with the risks of unwanted side effects, so many people are now taking affordable hgh releasers to augment their own natural production. These over the counter products are usually developed from traditional herbs to help our bodies to produce more of our natural growth hormones and are available without prescription. Although these products are not as powerful as medical therapies, at least they are not as expensive and are safer.

A Look at the Many Uses of Botox

Tuesday, January 31st, 2012

Although many people think that botox is only used to treat wrinkles this is not actually the case. There are many different conditions that can be successfully treated using this kind of injection. Here is a look at what this substance is, how it is administered and some of the conditions that it can treat.

Many people are very nervous about the idea of injecting their bodies with this substance. This is not surprising since the same toxin that can cause severe food poisoning is found in these injections. It can prevent nerve signals getting through from the brain to the body and basically causes temporary muscular paralysis.

Our skin moves due to the actions of muscles underneath the skin. We tend to wrinkle most severely in areas where the skin has moved again and again. When we squint, smile or make other facial expressions our skin moves repeatedly and can cause deep creases and lines to develop. By paralyzing the muscles under the skin using modified botulism toxin the creasing will be stopped. Although it is not a permanent solution it can make lines and wrinkles look better.

Some people sweat excessively. In the past there was little that could be done to treat this condition. Now, however, it is possible to use botox injections to reduce the body’s ability to sweat. This discovery was very surprising since sweating has nothing to do with our muscles and it was thought that botulism toxin was only useful on muscular conditions. Now many individuals who are embarrassed by their sweating are using this treatment method to significantly reduce the amount of sweating that takes place.

Migraine headaches can be chronic and debilitating for many people. Depending on the cause of these chronic headaches, injections of this toxin into the head and neck have been proven effective at reducing the frequency with which these headaches take place. The substance is still being tested and may only give a slight improvement but for some people this is worthwhile. This treatment can only be used on chronic migraines however.

Scientists are still searching for other conditions, such as muscular tics and spasms which may be treatable using this substance. Conditions such as upper motor neuron syndrome and cervical dystonia may benefit from the use of botulinum toxin. Other conditions including asthma are now being looked at as they may also benefit from the use of botox.

Although it is fairly safe to use this substance to deal with different conditions it is not without some risks and dangers. Administration is performed via injection and you need to make sure that it will be injected into the right areas of the face or body. In some individuals there may be the risk of an allergic reaction and there have been cases where the paralysis spread far beyond the area where treatment is required. It is always something to speak to a doctor about before beginning treatment.

Individuals need to remember that botox is not a permanent solution. Treatments will need to be repeated at regular intervals in order to maintain the desired effect.
